Essosolim Apollinaire Abi

CO-FOUNDER AND DATA SCIENCE LEAD

Apollinaire is an aspiring economic researcher with a special interest in studying how technology can efficiently help developing countries fight poverty and achieve economic growth. He has a strong background in mathematics, statistics and economics, and experience working with Python, R and STATA. He is currently a predoctoral research fellow at the University of Chicago, working with Prof. Oeindrila Dube and Dr. Abhilash Mishra at the Harris School of Public Policy on research projects on crime, financial inclusion, education and artificial intelligence. He is also a researcher at Equitech Futures.

Apollinaire holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Mathematics and a post-graduate diploma in Economics and Computer Science from Ashoka University in India. He also holds a diploma in Entrepreneurial Leadership from the African Leadership Academy in South Africa. At Ashoka University, he was an undergraduate teaching assistant, in the departments of Mathematics and Computer Science. He later joined the African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID) in Nigeria as an intern for a short run.
